If you’re curious how to put on weight, the first thing to know is that it is possible!  I know first hand – I used to be a skronny little twig! 

Even if you have tried different things to gain weight without any success, I want you to know that you can pack on those pounds that you’re looking for.

Now if you’re wondering how to put on weight, then I’m sure you’ve already thought of the obvious – EAT EAT EAT!!

And you couldn’t be more right – if you want to pack on weight, then you need to eat – and a lot!

 

But even though this sounds obvious, most people fail at this crucial step.  They might eat a big meal here or a big meal there, but they don’t actually map out a meal plan and make sure that they are consuming enough calories on a daily basis.

You need to be committed to eating a lot of clean calories and doing this everyday.  It’s not enough just to “try” to eat a lot – you need to have a meal plan mapped out!

 

And your diet can’t just be crap.  You want to pick good, quality calories. For anyone wondering how to put on weight, I can’t stress enough how you need to skip the big macs and reach for the good stuff.

This means lots of chicken, lots of complex carbohydrates, lots of healthy fats – the key word here is LOTS!

 

And just to clarify what some of the healthy fats are – some examples are olive oils, flaxseed oils, nut butters, avocados ,fish oils etc.  What’s nice is that there are fats that your body can put to good use AND fats are dense in calories – a plus for those wondering how to put on weight.

The next key tip is to make sure that not only are you eating alot, but that you’re eating often.  You should be eating at least 6 times a day.

And this doesn’t mean that you pig out and eat a ton each time.  Instead you want to be eating 300-600 calories each time so that you body is constantly getting new calories. 

 

 And of course, you can find some good supplements that should make this easier.  Look for some well ranked weight gain powders.  These can make it easy to get in 500 – 1000 calories in one shake.
